The Australian National University has announced it has suspended all ties and activities with Russian institutions indefinitely.
The Canberra based university made the announcement late on Thursday, amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
“The Australian National University (ANU) strongly condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and its fundamental breaches of international law and the UN Charter, on which the rules-based international order is founded.”
“We stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people in their defence of sovereignty and freedom and offer our support for the universities of Ukraine.”
It’s now encouraging other institutions across Australia to make similar moves.
It follows the decision of a group of alcohol stores, including Dan Murphy’s and BWS, to strip its shelves of Russian products.
