Often dubbed the ‘P***s Owl’, Belconnen’s favourite bird will soon adorn the envelopes of letters sent out across the country by Canberrans via the post.

The iconic statue has just been revealed as one of Australia Post’s newest postmark designs.

A postmark is the inked rubber stamp that indicates the date and place of posting on letters and helps to show that the stamp on the envelop has been used for postage.

The new design, which will ‘take flight’ from May 17 came about as an initiative of the staff at the Belconnen Post Shop.
