The drive-thru COVID-19 testing site at Exhibition Park will close for the final time this week.
After more than 18 months of operations, testing services at EPIC will cease from 10pm this Friday 17 December.
The closure will allow the site to return to regular operations and event hosting capabilities, ahead of next month’s Summernats festival.
In its place, a new free drive-thru testing site will be established in Mitchell, operating between 8am-10pm seven days a week.
Despite the changes, ACT Health Minister, Rachel Stephen-Smith said it’s still important Canberrans come forward for testing over the holidays.
“We will ensure there is ample capacity across our testing clinics over the holiday period so that anyone who needs to get tested can do so in a timely manner.”
“COVID-19 isn’t taking a holiday.”
Over the Christmas holiday period, the following ACT Government clinics will be operating:
- Mitchell COVID-19 Drive Through Testing Centre – 8am-10pm, seven days a week (including public holidays)
- Garran COVID-19 Testing Centre – 7am-9pm, seven days a week (including public holidays)
- Kambah COVID-19 Drive Through Testing Centre – 8am-4pm, seven days a week (8am-12pm on public holidays)
The Nicholls COVID-19 Testing Centre will be closed from 25 December 2021 to 3 January 2022.
