Last year the students of Miles Franklin Primary School in Evatt were left devastated, when their new playground, bought with funds raised by the community, was set alight by vandals.
This weekend, the school community is rallying together again, to raise funds to re-build their playground. They’re hosting a Colour Run this Saturday, with plenty of prizes up for grabs, and a sausage sizzle.
Test your skills on a 500m obstacle course on the school oval, where at each obstacle participants will be doused with different coloured powder. Participants are encouraged to wear white so by the time you’re finished you are plastered with a rainbow of colours!
There’s an incentive for students as well, with every ten grand raised a teacher will be colour bombed.
Stacey’s daughter Grace is a student at Miles Franklin School, and says the kids are very keen to get their play ground re-built:
“It’s been a long time coming, and the kids were devastated after losing their brand new playground.”
The event is open to the public with Canberrans encouraged to register HERE.
